Product Recall for Vevor Ultrasonic Cleaners presenting a serious risk of electric shock.

Product: Vevor Ultrasonic Cleaners

Hazard: The products present a serious risk of electric shock as they are inadequately earthed, with poor clamping to secure against loosening which could lead to the product becoming live.

Corrective action: The import has been rejected at the border. Update: 28th April 2023: The product mentioned in case 2212-0026 has been recalled from end users by Super Smart Service.

The product presents a serious risk of electric shock as the product is inadequately earthed, with poor clamping to secure against loosening. Therefore, if the clamping became loose, the product would become live at mains voltage. Ultimately, this would cause a consumer to get an electric shock if they touched the surrounding metal parts of the product. The instructions provided with the product were inadequate as they did not contain sufficient information to ensure the correct and safe use of the equipment.

The products do not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016.
